How to repair/replace front sight insert in Smith and wesson revolver? Its loose and need to be firmly in there obviously. Its a small red/orange front sight insert that tops the front blade. Dovetailed in place.

A small amount Glue/epoxy to bond the plastic to the cold steel?
Something that wont wreck the finish on the gun obviously.

Clear Gorilla glue should work, I think most super glue based adhesives will fail with recoil....
Also try making your own with Brownells or Midway USA front sight kit; get in control and choose your own color. Larry Potterfield has a good video.
Here's a Taurus M85 that didn't have a ramp insert, so fabricated one and used the methods above.. IMG_4509 copy.jpg IMG_4548 copy.jpg IMG_4550 copy.jpg IMG_4597 copy.jpg IMG_4608 copy.jpg IMG_4611 copy.jpg IMG_4617 copy.jpg

Brownell's sells stock to make a new one, but since you still have yours, I'd start with you favorite clear glue. Cyanoacrylate (Superglue) or Contact Cement, after a good local degreasing, is where I'd start. Be sure to re-oil any bluing you degrease.
