I picked up a nice, very well cared for stainless Ruger Security Six last week for $400 last week...ran some .357 magnum factory ammo through it this last weekend and am glad I purchased it. The factory stocks were not on it, rather a set of Pachmayer Grippers, which are fine for now, but I prefer wood on most of my guns. Looked around some but haven't seen any vendors selling wood for this revolver. Has anyone used any replacement stocks that they like? Would like to hear what might be out there.

I used to put the regular Pachmayr grips on mine but the ones on the CDNN website look pretty nice. There use to be a company (I think it was Sile Distributors), that use to import similar looking grips like that from Italy.

I have the same revolver, and I can recommend the new edition Pachmyar Presentation grip.

The Pachmyar 'gripper' is a bit smaller and softer, but was not quite right for me.

Hogue rubber is soft but sticks to clothing, and interferes with the speedloader.

Badger works great as well -

After trying a few different ones, the new Presentation grip was best for me. I say 'new' because the rubber is different to what it was 20 years ago, it's a little softer and doesn't crack up with age.

Out of all the grips I tried, only the Presentation grip covers the backstrap and allows your hand to get close to the bore axis.

I recently bought a pair of NOS Mustang grips on GunBroker. They're out of business, but they are out there if you keep looking. Good luck--the right grips make a big difference.
