Anyone know where I can get replacement metal inserts, is that what they are called....?, for the my Taurus Millenium Pro PT111 magazines.

I got the magazines pretty gunked up with dirt and grit... one had a real gritty feel to it when i depressed it. Anyway, I had trouble getting one out after removing the floorplate. It was my first time taking the magazines apart... and I bent one slightly... I tried to corret it.. but it is a bear to get in and out now. ...I'm not sure if that could affect reliability. I shot it today with no problem.. but in a different situation... I guess you never know...

But, I really do not want to buy a new magazine. They are really gouging you lately.

I think this metal insert is the magazine follower. I have no idea if it is available separately from a magazine, but it couldn't hurt to contact Taurus and ask. You're right to be concerned, as binding between the follower and the body/tube can and will cause feeding malfunctions.

It is not the part of the magazine on top of the spring.... the part that contacts the bullet. It is on the other end of the spring.. at the base of the magsazine. My concern is that somehow it will get pushed up a little of a bit twisted and not reseat properly. But those magazines are running upper 30's now at best. Thanks alot.

If it has a tab in the middle to retain the floorplate, it might be a floorplate catch. (At least in other gun companies' nomenclature.) The spring pressure should keep it in place.

Yeah thanks. It does seem to be working good... just not as easy to take apart anymore.
