I have an old Taurus PT92AR that I'm considering doing some work on. It has about 5000 rounds through it, has been 100% reliable and is still in very good condition. The problem is that it doesn't shoot to point of aim for me at all.

I know it could be me, but my buckmark shoots very instinctively for me. I also rented an M&P9, which shot to point of aim for me, and did pretty well with a kimber custom CDP as well.

Are there any aftermarket adjustable rear sights available for it besides the LPA sights listed on midway? They aren't bad looking but one reviewer said that they aren't tall enough to make up for the gun hitting low (which seems to be a common problem on these guns). Are there any other sights which could be fit without too much modification? I can do some filing on the dovetail, but don't want it to be a major project.

I'd put money into some new grips and a rear sight if I can make a shooter out of it, but if its going to be a monumental project or cost a couple hundred bucks I'll just buy another gun. Any suggestons?

Check with Millett. As I recall, their Beretta 92 sights work on the Taurus. The "accurizer" front sight has the added benefit of stabilizing the front end of the barrel which is notoriously free to move on that gun. It has a couple little rubber/polymer feet that bear on the top of the barrel either side of the front sight creating a 3 point wedge effect on the nose of the barrel. Sometimes you will see a dramatic improvement in groups from using that front sight.

Thanks Bill
Looked up millet and turns out they have a rear sight for the PT92 as well. Will probably end up giving one a try.
