Anybody want to recommend a brand/shape recoil pad for a shotgun used in home defense and some range work.

I will be using a more squared up stance.

From reading, maybe convex (curved out) is better but not sure.

Good evening.

My advice would be to try a Pachmayr decelerator slip on pad. I need a stock extension on most shotguns, and the decelerator pad extends the stock by just under an inch which suits me fine in most cases. It also absorbs quite a lot of the recoil which can't be a bad thing.
I've never tried a convex pad, and can't see the point to be honest.

Cheers.

Stewart.

Pachmayr Decelerator or Limbsaver. I have mostly the Pacmayrs on my shotguns but have shot a few shotguns that had Limbsavers installed. If shooting trap, the convex type that fits the shoulder works well, sporting or skeet I prefer a flat pad.
