Report on Kimber Life Act Guardian Angel Pepper Blaster

Yes, the MAIN POINT of my original post was that the product worked very well, and proved very accurate in actual use. I pointed it without aiming, at a small, moving target, and the shot was dead on, and very effective.

people sure like bragging about torturing animals on this forum

There was no "torture" involved. This was a very sick, suffering animal. It was a very dangerous animal. It had RABIES. It was vigorously ATTACKING people. It needed to be killed. I didn't want to kill it, and the first day I saw it, I left it alone to crawl off and die.

It was TWO DAYS LATER, when it came back and was stalking and attacking people that I immobilized it with the Kimber Pepper Blaster, then immediately put it out of its misery as swiftly, humanely, and efficiently as possible, by beating it with the shovel. If that sounds ironic, well, it's a Grownup Thing.

I wasn't joking around, or playing games for fun. I wasn't trying to "torture poor little fuzzy animals." Sheesh. Go back and re-read my original post.

My original point was that, although I had been skeptical of the product I had been carrying for 17 months, it proved very effective when I had a legitimate need to use it. I went right out and bought two more. I recommend it to the consideration of others.

I got your point Threeband. Thanks for the review. I bought one of these for my wife some time ago and it's good to know it is easy to use and effective. I might get one for myself even though I have a CWP. Not every bad guy needs killing, some just need a little "attitude adjustment". :D I have a feeling a shot from one of these in the face would probably adjust attitudes quite nicely.

You know, it would greatly behoove you to actually read what was posted before responding with something like that.

Geez......

I once stopped a cadre of groundhog warriors with my SureFire Defender E2E with Crenellated Strike Bezel (TM)...

Just kidding :neener:

Actually though, awesome to hear of someone using it. If anything it'd be much harder to hit a groundhog than a person.

I too bought one for my mother and myself, to whoever said that...

I carry the Kimber in the right front pocket, SpitFire unit on my keychain (smaller, refillable, cheaper, handier unit - perfect for stray dogs that don't pose a serious threat, or as a quicker option for non-lethal force), and my mom has the same setup.

One final point. My "safety" broke off, but it is actually a lawyer safety that breaks off very easily just from pocket carry, according to a guy on Kimber's hotline. He says the Euro versions don't even have the stupid safety.

God knows what a "Lifeact" is.

LMAO. Amen.

Brent, glad to see you had a change of heart. What do you think it would cost you to ship a couple of those 19.99 units to NC? :)

well im glad you knew it had rabies through pure visual ways , the scientific community will be glad now that they dont have to chop off the head and check the brain to find the only conclusive way any more.

you had a shovel , you didnt need pepper spray , as you said you finally got to use it . you were waiting for anything to jump off to use it .

Ahem, Norest, are you arguing that the shovel is less cruel than the pepper spray?

Edit: Ok, I just realized you were the guy who posted this a while back:

in 2001 me and a friend beat up a 250lb male with brassknuckles

I think it would only cost about 8 or 9bucks. Itwould have to go UPS ground. I noticed they have an Academy Sports in Spartanburg SC. Is that a long ways from where you live?

yeah i think if i was evidently going to die anyways at the blunt end of a shovel i wouldn't want to get pepper sprayed previously .
Please reread the OP.

I have no idea if you're trying to stir up trouble or just don't understand what went on, but I'll reiterate what's already been reiterated.

He used pepper spray to stop the critter. Once the critter was immobile, he was able to use the shovel to put it out of its misery.

Uh, guys.... I get the impression we're replying to a phantom.

Norest appears to be toast.

:)

So, Are We Done Here . . . ?

Is there more constructive content?

Discussion of the original topic?

And, yes, I agree, not much point conversing with a phantom.

So, what was it we were talking about?

That’s a pretty good price. I purchased two Pepper Blasters from our local police supply store for 37.95 each. Had an older one that I felt like trying out. This product is very impressive with a 90 MPH delivery. It worked very well in the wind and it was easy to hit the target. One thing I really like about this product is you can leave it in your car and not worry about it exploding. I had a can of Freeze+P Blow up in my car. I still like Aerkos' Freeze+P but I also like this pepper blaster. The Technology is well worth the cost. Have also read a review from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office in the Phoenix Arizona area and they are now using the Kimber pepper spray products with a 100% effectiveness rating to date. One inmate had been Tasered, hit with regular Sabre Red OC and bean bag rounds and the Kimber Product was the worst product he had ever been sprayed with. This is due to the 2.4% Major Capsaicinoid concentration which is more than twice as potent as Sabre Red.

Very glad to hear that this little tool works well. My girlfriend was recently taking night classes and I thought VERY seriously aboout getting her one. I didnt know if it actually worked well or not, so I decided against it. Now that I do know for a fact that it works well, and with a decent spread, since she doesnt have the best vision, I believe I will get her one. And probably one for the rest of my family as well that dont carry a good knife or gun. Thanks for the story Threeband.

Alright. Well, the thread had died and has now been resurrected. As long as it's back to life again, anybody know how the Pepper Blaster would hold up in a car here in the North East? I'm talking about winters of 20deg and summers of 85deg.

Can this stuff handle being frozen and baked and whatnot and still work?

Actually, after the first incident, I spent 20 minutes trying to get Animal Control on the phone, then gave up and called 911. An hour or so later, a cop stopped by, and he and I walked back beyond the shed looking for the groundhog, with no luck. I mentioned Animal Control, and he laughed and said, "Oh they won't come out. Heck, I'm just going to shoot it."

Which is why we have an epidemic of rabies in this country, a breakdown of vital health and sanitary services.

Still don't trust Pepper spay in any case...a BG is not a furry critter, or at least most aren't . :)

Called up and spoke to Kimber's rep for the Pepper Blaster today.
He said the only thing that matters is operating temp between -4f and 175f. How long it spends at any temp within that range is irrelevant.
He said that one of the reps in Phoenix AZ kept a Pepper Blaster in the trunk of his car for a summer. At the end of a few months in that heat he tested it and the blaster did exactly what it's supposed to do.

I have to admit that I couldn't stop laughing as I read this; but, in all seriousness it was rather informative. Kinda glad that you used it before my girl did because I got her one last year. I thought about getting one myself but I don't really have the funds for it; they cost right around the ballpark of 40/42 bucks here which is just about the same as if it were to come from some online dealer.
