I've got a couple of matching model 70's from the 80's. They are "ranger" models with hooded front sites and basic wood stocks. Well, I love them. I'm thinking about dressing them up with new stocks after Christmas, but I'm not having much luck.

One is in 30.06 and the other in .243, so LA/SA.

I'm looking for a dark wood with checkering (think featherweight style stocks)

I don't want synthetics or generic Boyd's, I'd really like to find something like the featherweight stocks.

My question is, where can these be bought? Can stocks be ordered through Winchester (without it costing an arm and a leg? Also they only have the 2008 parts catalog on their website, so is this still good?) or is there a way to purchase these new?

Thanks in advance.

When in doubt, Google!

The good semi-inletted wood stocks are really hard to find, but if memory serves me right, there were some featherweight stocks in a CDNN catalog awhile back. Have you googled?

I've Googled, Yahooed, and Gunbrokered. Gunbroker had one stock, but it was used and I'd like to keep them matching. The .243 is my critter getter and helps with the 30.06 for bigger game.
