i ordered 2 of these magazines wednesday evening, paid standard shipping, and recieved them this morning! i opened the packaging, praying that these things would work and inserted the first magazine into my gun. to my satisfaction, it went in MUCH easier and more smoothly than my old metal 40 rd. i removed the magazine and loaded it, then proceeded to fire all 20 rounds flawlessly!! it even holds the bolt open after the last round is fired... again, something my 40 rd would not do. magazine 2 performed just as well as #1, and needless to say, i am a very happy customer. these come highly recommended to anyone looking for a good, removable SKS mag, and at only $20, how can you resist??

you can load it with a stripper clip. What is annoying is you can not remove it without the bolt being open. Trying to hold the bolt back, push that little mag release and take the mag out is beyond me. There are instructions on how to modify the bolt so that you can take the mag out when you want to.

I use the Tapco mags too and they are very reliable. I have a box of aftermarket mags I've tried over the years. They were all mostly junk. Tapco got this one right! I sell a lot of these also, and customer feedback has all been positive.

Hrm. I never had a detachable mag for my SKS that was reliable (even US made), but I would be interested to hear of there's one that works reliably.

Tapco

Yeah, Tapco has nice magazines. The 20rd mags are flawless, but sometimes the little 5rd mags give me a jam problem on the last shot.

You do have to remove the original fixed box mag to use Tapco's 20-rounder. (Make sure that using detachable magas is legal where you live...)
Also, it's the bolt design of the SKS that requires that you it open to remove mags. Tapco has a modified US-made bolt and bolt carrier in the works that will eliminate this problem and gev us two more complience parts...
