This topic causes me great concern. My questions are:
Based on Texas Law you are allowed to carry a weapon concealed in your vehicle with no permit.
It is my understanding this weapon may be loaded as long as it is concealed.
This has been verified for me by law enforcement interactions in a very conservative liberty supporting county.
1. The question begins with school zones. Does this law give me the authority to go on school property to pick up family with a gun concealed in my vehicle. How about driving through school zones. I know that traffic stops involving drug charges are escalated even if you are just driving through a school zone.
2.Second some counties and cities chief law enforcement officers have stated they will make arrests against the law and allow the courts to sort it out.
Does any one have reliable information about updates and or prosecutions under this policy. Unfortunately I visit these counties/cities and they are the places I feel the most need in being armed.
Please do not post conjecture, I already have my own opinions about these laws. I am interested in facts and advice from law enforcement or legal professionals. Supporting evidence would be even better. I know a CHL would negate some of these issues but it is out of the question for some time.
