Revolver ammunition you would like to see.

I would like to see a "moderated" loading for .357, .41, .44 magnums - and a regular for .44 Special and .45 Colt with a lead semiwadcutter hollowpoint bullet similar to the classic "FBI load" (158 gr LSWCHP) for the .38 Special.

I would like to see a .45 Colt JHP that would make 1300+ fps and not have too much pressure for a Colt 1909 model double-action.

I'm with you--but one of these is already being made by Federal--the 225 gr. .45 Colt LSWCHP:

Shoot, I'd load 'em myself--just produce the dang bullets, esp. in .41!!

I would like to see more 32 H&R magnums, from different ammo makers and also a +p+ load for Rugers. I think my sp 101 can take alot more pressure than the factory ammo I have been using.

125 gr standard pressure .38 Special Hollow Point. To replace the old S&W Nyclad.

Even the WW White Box is +P sigh.

Who has to feed an old Model 38 S&W. :D

1. Some "honest" .44 Special utility loads from the big companies -- e.g., Speer Gold Dot 200 gr JHP @ 1000 fps from a 4" gun; a Keith SWC offering 250 gr @ 1000 fps.

2. Hotter .32 H&R Magnum defense loads for revolvers like the Ruger SP101, S&W 432PD and Taurus 731.

3. A new proprietary cartridge, the Freedom Arms 22/500, that uses a necked down .500 Linebaugh case to propel a 38 gr .22 hollowpoint from a single action revolver at relativistic velocity.

OK, just kidding on #3.

A 158 grain .38 special load that (when fired from a 2" barrel) can match or better the Speer Gold Dot 135 gr. JHP (fired from a 2" barrel) FBI gelatin test results.

Some Old, Some New

.38 special (standard and +P) loaded with a hemispherical front 200 gr. LRN (the old super police load)

.38 special (+P) loaded with hard cast 180 gr. LFN to use when a .38 is carried as an emergency outdoors gun.

.38 S&W loaded with same 200 gr. LRN and a 180 gr. FMJ

.45 Auto Rim in a large variety of loads (some people really don't like moon clips): lightweight JHPs (185-200), heavy FMJs & JHPs (200-230), and extra heavy (265 gr. or so) hard cast LFN.

.45 Auto 230 gr. Ball loaded with same attention to detail as a premium JHP (not range blaster fodder)

A cheap LRN .357 magnum loaded to the same pressure as the Speer short-barrel .357. There is absolutely no good practice ammunition for this cartridge. The WWB 110-grain comes close in terms of pressure, but it shoots way low.

That, and exploding bullets in .38 special :p .

I want to see 2 .41 magnum loads. I would like to see an 190 grain JHP, loaded so it develops just under 1000 fps in most 4" barrels.

I would also like to see a swaged lead hollow point at 210 grains. Sort of a cross between the old .41 magnum lead bullet load, and the "FBI" .38 Special lead hollow point.

The bullets of both of these cartridges should also be available as components.

Now, if S&W would just make a 658 to go along with these 2 loads.:)

A cheap practice round that mimics the ballistics and other characteristics of the Glaser and/or Magsafe rounds. $15/5 rounds? That's $600 to put the recommended 200 rounds through a particular gun!! :cuss: Ok, maybe in a revolver it isn't as critical as an auto, but still...
