.38 vs .357- Law Enforcement Edition

When I started in the mkd-70's we carried Federal 125 gr JHP rated at about 1400 fps out of our 4" S&W M19's. No complaints about stopping power!

The best for the average officer was the 38 special. Lack of practice and dismal qualification scores being the primary reason. the 357 would just amplify the problems.
