Typically I seem to load most cartridges with a longer OAL. Not always but more times than not. I'm a little embarrassed to say but I load titegroup in every pistol I own. I do have some H110 on order for my 357. It's all I've used for pistol loading. I've also noticed that most of my loads using titegroup seem to be at the lower end of the minimum powder charge. The 9mm MPR is one of the two exceptions if you count my RMR 230gr RN FMJ that I use for 45 acp.

I don't have any experience with any other pistol powder so maybe it's why I notice certain things about it that some might not. I've learned that several different cartridges I load with titegroup in several different bullet weights that there is a major change in accuracy within 1 tenth of a grain of powder.

My TG 357 RMR RN FMJ load and my 230gr 45 acp RMR loads seem to really change with a tenth of gr when comparing accuracy. Maybe that's why I am really ocd about weighing every powder charge and OAL. It will definitely be interesting to try some different powder very soon and see how things act.

That is the nature of fast powders. Discussing the exact same issue with magnum pistol powders in rifle rounds with another member today. Slower powders appear to be more tolerant, and have wider charge nodes.

Maybe that's why I tend to pay extra attention to detail. Not that one should be sloppy when reloading by any means. I kind of cringe when I hear people say they set their dies and powder drop settings and then check a few times and go on their way until they have finished a batch. Maybe if I started out using a slower powder with a wider charge node I might think different. I also tend to do my work ups in 10th gr increments then I hear about people doing it in .03 gr increments. I would rather spend the time once or twice working on finding what works even if it is a whole day so that can start loading exactly what works from that point on.

I also try to stick with what I know works but in these times it's not always possible. I guess by getting out of my comfort zone it has helped me learn, get better and find things I like better.

It’s always good to see targets with holes on them and no Kaboom. I’m not sure you can draw any conclusions about accuracy nodes with 4 shots but at least the bullet/powder/COL combination works.
I also found an issue with some brass I seem to have a ton of. The headstamp is CBC. Everyone of them I used would not seat to the seating depth I had set up.
It’s good brass but it does seem to be a bit thicker than others, and in my case sometimes it won’t gauge completely but I run a longer and perhaps wider bullet. Even if it’s out of spec a bit, I know it will fit in my chamber and use it for live fire practice. I’m not sure what you mean by “would not seat”?

What I was talking about is while seating the bullets into the cases "CBC" head stamp. I used mixed brass this time. I usually try to load a batch by same head stamp but this time I did not. My other cases in this mixed batch were consistent coming out at the OAL I wanted or very close. The CBC cases all resulted in a very wide range of OAL. I actually set aside these cases and had to readjust the seating die to get them to the OAL I was trying to achieve.

I guess my choice of words could have been better. I tend see something in my head and describe it a little different sometimes.
