No real experience with them. I did fondle one for awhile yesterday. Without shooting it, it seemed to be a fairly decent
GI spec copy. Price is attractive too if only for a no frills beater gun. My FFL is a friend and has done me right on numerous occasions. He says he has been selling quite a few RI's lately.
I wouldn't trade my beat up Sistema for a new one though.
If you are looking at the RIA 1911, then I'd also suggest you take a look at the Springfield Armory Mil Spec. It costs about $400 and is a very fine gun.
I'm assuming that a base pistol like this can be tweaked with aftermarket parts (new extractor, etc.) and a throat/polish job into a reliable CCW weapon, correct?
