Has anybody seen one of these yet? Apparently the patent has expired for Ruger's 10/22 carbine. Ad said it takes Ruger and aftermarket magazines.

Armscor builds some decent guns, but I just don't see a market demand for a 10/22 clone when you can buy the real deal for $25-50 more.

Rock Island is known for their customer service and life time warranty, that probably is the only reason to buy this clone if it does not use plastics like Ruger does now.

So is Ruger.

It's been pretty well established that the polymer trigger guard of newer 10/22s is stronger than the old cast aluminum design. Just sayin'.

Having had several Armscor 22LR rounds with casing failures, it will be a LONG time before I trust anything bearing their name. Why bother with a copycat when you can get the real thing again at Walmart for a little more? What's that extra $25-40 for something that has a damn near faultless reputation, and a bazillion aftermarket mods made for it?

I had one of the cast aluminum ones, and the new plastics have a much tighter and better fit. Less rattle, or pin movement than the old aluminum.

I think I will just stick with the Ruger.

RE the trigger housing: Many custom builders will no longer work on the aluminum castings. They had a huge variance in tolerances and it made repeatable results difficult. No such problems with the polymer. I will admit that I hated the polymer ones at first and thought Ruger was cheaping out. After using them for a while, I am sold.

It think it might do well in the market. The 10/22 is a fine .22 but it's been over priced for years. There are a lot of good .22 rifles out there for a lot less. We have several Rugers here along with Remington and Marlin. The Marlins out shoot the Ruger with just about any ammo.

Introducing a new .22 rifle without being able to get .22 shells? I have a feeling this will be a decent seller even w/o available ammo.

You can get 22 shells any time you want, whatever kind you want, I am sure folks know the website which is why there is none on the shelf for very long.

I have thought for years that surely somebody should be able to make the 10/22 better than ruger does.. I guess thats what has kept the aftermarket going so well. You can start with the base ruger and before long you are contemplating replacing even the receiver because you've already swapped everything else out.
