It is a Romanian PAR 1, and I might buy it because I don't own one yet. Can you think of any other reason to buy one?

Its some new pump action Ak bastard child isnt it ?

Unless you live in a ban state why buy one ?

yes it is, but i dont think theyre too "new'

imo, because its "diffrent"----but i see alot of people get them cuz theytre cheap, and convert them to semi. that i cant understand, for all the time and trouble?? just get a real ak!!

they still take hi-caps.

A PAR-1 is a P.D.B (Produced During assualt weapons Ban) Romanian pump action AKM (aka AK-47) clone. This rifle has a pistol grip and can accept AK-47 Hi-capacity magazines. The rifle is the results of “niche” market for those in states, such as California, a chance to own a rifle similar to the SAR-1. This rifle uses a pump action to cycle the rounds and is not semi-automatic. It uses the standard AK-47 7.62*39mm cartridge. The fit and finish of this rifle is average. There are a few reports of trigger slap but I have not heard enough of them to warrant any concern. The pump action system I assume is still based on that of the Kalashnikov design so reliability is probably good unless one doesn't complete the pumping action all the way.

It uses a slide connected to the gas piston to manually cycle the action. From what I saw, it would not be too hard to convert to semi-auto. I might do it merely for the principle of things (and to get a dimpled receiver).

Apparently the PAR 1 is 7.62 x 39 and the PAR 3 is .223. Seems simple enough when checking out the field stripping instructions.

I guess it doesn't sit well with the purists on here, but looks like a fun gun to shoot some afternoon. Not everything HAS to be an evil black rifle you know.:neener:

If I was heavy into pump guns (via shotgunning or otherwise), having a EBR that took hi-cap mags and had a similar manual of arms would actually be a really useful thing.

Pretty cool, I think.

Yes, the PAR does take AK magazines, equal to the caliber used. In other words, the 7.62x39 version takes standard AK mags. The great thing about that is that because it is not a semi-auto rifle, then it never was included in any AWB. You could side-fold it, add a bayonet, pistol grip, flash-hider, and still be fine because it wasn't semi-auto.
