Ok I have little money but must buy a gun to feed the monkey. Cdnn has some close out single shots in .357 and .44 for probably what I have in my change jar.

Anyone have or shoot one of these? how is the trigger accuracy etc.

The fact that they are discontinued alone is a bit of a draw. I don't think they will be collectable but I love saying "Have you ever shot one of these?" knowing they probably haven't.

I have a .357 686+ that needs a companion but doubt I would spend the cash on a pump or lever in that caliber as there other things to buy for that kind of money.

Any info is appreciated. -bevr

I have a Rossi single shot in .44Mag and have been getting around 4.5" groups at 50 yards with a 2x scope. Good enough for close-in deer hunting, but not any more accurate than my revolvers. This was with various 180 and 240gr hunting loads(JHP and JSP) from Winchester, Federal, and Corbon. They all "pattern" about the same. I am going to try to handload a decent hunting load(up in 300gr territory), but if I can't get better groups I'm going to get rid of it and stick to my revolvers for brush hunting.

You can get a Marlin .357 levergun for around the same money that you have invested in your 686+.

Rossi also made that single shot in 45Colt/410. I had one of them. It was alot of fun to shoot. Accuracy was decent with the 45Colt. They have nice butt pads, so even my 14 year old enjoyed shooting it. The 410 patterned okay, as long as you were about 10-20 yards from target.
I've seen a few of these in pawn shops lately. The price for one, new in the box, was $179. What is CDNN asking for them?

$149 for stainless

Well it ain't gonna happen now spent some money on some mags I needed. Decided to treat myself to a few accesories for things I have now and building up my ammo supply. a little at a time with each check.

Until I come into a windfall I think I will just stick with improving what I have.

Thanks for the feedback.
