A 10/22 was one of my primary frog-killers back in the days of my youth. It was a pretty basic one with, I think, a Tasco scope from Wal-Mart. It was actually my father's rifle and he got rid of it several years ago. No real problem on my part with that because I'd gone on to bigger and better things.

My 9-year old daughter has gotten into shooting now and seems to love it. She's shot everything from my Yost hi-power to a Glock 33 to an AR but she finally got to shoot .22's over Christmas and she's hooked. I'll admit that I was a little shocked because I hadn't fired anything but larger caliber weapons for years.

A friend showed me a suppressed 10/22 that belongs to his father and I fell in love. Not only is the suppressor nice but the whole package, including a laminate thumbhole stock, really struck my fancy.

Therefore, I ask, where are the best websites for tricking out a 10/22?

Try Rimfire Central. They have great forums and LOTS of pages of reader's rifles..... They have a very big Ruger specific forum.

rimfirecentral.com Great site for all things rimfire. Good to hear your daughter likes to shoot, support her intrest in the shooting sports.

stay away from RimFire Central it becomes a addiction, kiss your plastic money goodbye...... you will wind up with boxes of stock spare parts for 10/22's

actually the BEST site period for knowledge the .22

check out the gallery and let her pick out her custom build and get her get involved in the building

start looking for used 10/22's now to satisfy the addiction

+1 Rimfirecentral.com

Indeed.

Not only will you find a LOT of folks that figure that Bill Ruger (God rest him)
should have had a Nobel Rimfire Engineering Prize, you will get all the 'counter opinions' so you can have that benefit.

Yes, I know, there's no Nobel prize for firearms, but there SHOULD be.

If you have a thousand dollars to spare, Ironwood Designs will make you a Walther WA2000 conversion for your 10/22.

I guess I can just carve two big warclubs out of the Ruger 10/22 factory hardwood stocks... okay, 2 medium clubs since the 10/22 is not a big gun.

plus if you order from brownells they will put you on the mailing list, their little catalog is perfect toilet reading material.

You can order the catalogue off their website without ordering anything else and it's free for all 4 versions:

Brownell general catalogue
1911
AR15
Armorer's catalog

All 4 for the princely sum of FREE!

also, if you know what youre looking for, MidwayUSA.com has almost everything you could want at pretty competitive prices. between midway and brownells, if one site doesnt have something, the other usually does. in my experience, midway's shipping will beat brownell's to your door by no more than one day.

+1 notorious. this is very true. good call
