A short while back, I got my hands on some real AQT 25 meter targets.
AQT stands for Alternative Qualification Target.
The AQT simulates torso targets all the way out to 300 meters, but is shot at only 25 meters.
So, I loaded up my 10/22, stapled up a target, and measured off 25 meters (I used 82 feet).
Below are some pics.
I started at 300 meters. Slow fire. Prone. Ruger 10/22 had a 25-round Butler Creek magazine in it.
I fired the 300 meter target like this. Breathe in, breathe out, settle, squeeze. Probably about five seconds a shot. I fired 20 rounds.
At 250 meters, I went to a sitting position, but used the same shot sequence as in prone...breathe in, breathe out, settle, squeeze....about five seconds per shot......20 total rounds at the target
At 200 meters, I stood up and tried to shoot about one shot a second....10 rounds per target.
At 150 meters, I remained standing, and tried to fire about every half second or so....
At 50 meters, I stood, and just yanked that trigger as fast as I could.
There are 10 hits on the 50-meter target, I just sort of cut it out of the picture.
But here are the pics of my usage of a Ruger 10/22, a 25 round magazine, and an official US Army AQT target today.
The pics go from 25 meters back all the way to up right next to the target.
