Does any one know if Ruger has produced any Ruger 22/45 models in stainless steel with the standard barrel. I have come across one and was trying to find a comparable to see if the price was fair I have not been able to find any. All the 22/45 models I have come across have the bull, fluted, or slab barrel. I'm wondering if I'm looking at a 22/45 that has had the barrel replaced or if this is just a rare version of the 22/45. Any info or help would be great. Photos or link to them of such a version would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

Yes---they made them in the old frame style-----not seen all that often---but nothing really special either.

Now if its the 5.25in tapered barrel w/adj sights---you found a rare one.

Looking at my old catalogs---the 4" stainless tapered 22/45 was featured prominately in the 01 and 02 catalogs.

There is a good pic of the 5.25" tapered adj sight--stainless 22/45 on page 107 of the 1994 G&A Annual Edition-----those were only made for a year or 2 before they were pulled.

Sorry---I don't have a scanner to show all the pics.

Here's some pics of a take off barrel/rec-----clearly marked 22/45 though.

Thanks for the info. I'm going take another good look at the gun today. I'll probably put down a deposit for it no matter the barrel length. If it turns out to be the 5 1/4" barrel I'll let you know. I wont be able to pick the gun up until next week because of the Illinois 3 day wait on handguns. I'll post photos so we'll have one on the forum available for future reference.
