Just a question for my info. Why is it so hard to find parts for the Ruger 44 carbine?
I `m thinking of buying one,& i notice replacement parts are in short supply. Could it be the obvious ,either they don`t break much, or they have been out of production for a while, or just don`t worry about it.. Well you know, I just might have answered my question!

I have owned several and I love those little rifles. Figure they came about around 1961 and had a good run of production that went about 13 years till 1974. So the rifle has been out of production going on 40 years. That would be my guess as to why parts availability is scarce. Not that there aren't parts for other even older rifles.

I will say this, of the thousands of rounds I have sent down range with them I never had a parts failure, including the one I currently have. Great little short and handy deer rifle in heavy brush, I have taken plenty of West Virginia deer with mine. Always reliable!
