Ruger Alaskan

I'm still waiting for Ruger to start shipping to the lower 48 states.

BTW, is it still snowing up there?

That's a pretty stout guy in those pictures and it sure doesn't look to me as if he's having an easy time controlling that gun. I'm not all that impressed with the velocities either.

The velocities are what caught my eye. I can light-load my 4" 629 S&W and get comparable performance. However, as snubbies go, it is impressive!

I just hope I don't see one till the .460 Smith comes out. My SO knows that I want the Smith. She doesn't know I want the Alaskan also!
good shootin
kid

I wouldnt worry to much those quinn boys are crazy and were probably testing it with the hotest loads avalible. In fact I'm sure they were. There are many different levels of performance with the 454 and I'm sure not all are like that.

I read that article last night and enjoyed it. It looks like that one fellow almost took a blow to the forehead in the first picture. I would like to see and handle an Alaskan Redhawk in real life but it seems that Ruger intends to let the suspense build a little longer.
