My better half has been slaying hogs with a little .17hmr but I want her to step up to a larger caliber. the .22-250 has done it for me for years for deer and hogs, so I know it gets the job done. Question is for a starter rifle I am looking at the Ruger American or TC Compass. I've handled both and both seem to have a rough action in a few I've tried. then again I tried a few that were smooth. I seem to hear a lot of the accuracy of the Compass. I own a few .22 250s but I want one that handles heavier bullets like 72 grain. Scope will be like a mid range Leupold. We are overrun with hogs and she loves to hunt them. Ruger American/Predator or TC Compass.....input would be nice. Thanks.
