Ruger countdown here we go again

How many times does the 32 have to die before it's left in the grave!?!

Well, I actually happen to like the .32's for a number of reasons. BUT.........Chambering them in appropriate firearms is going to be critical for their success.

I have both a Single-Six and an SP101 in .32 H&R and love those little guns for their purpose, which for me is taking small game and varmints at close range. The .32 H&R offers substantially better velocity from a handgun than .22 mag, without the noise and recoil of a .357.

And in something like an airweight S&W, the .327 offers better performance than .38 +P with an extra shot.

But in a gun as large as the GP-100 and Blackhawk, it's just silly

Well, there we have it. Obviously there isn't a need for a compact gun that costs less than $1000, or, obviously, in less than .357 Magnum caliber.

The Ruger SR9, by the way, is exactly 0.23" longer, 0.09" wider, and Glock on their factory web site doesn't list the gun height, and weighs 4.46 oz. more, than a Glock 17. Cost for the Glock is also $74.81 more .

FWIW, I've never had a Ruger crack it's slide in less than 75 rounds, like my Sig P229, or shoot into 12" groups at 15 yards, like my HK USP45, or fail on the firsy shot, like my S&W Model 625-3.

The idea that any manufacturer is willing to introduce new variations to ANY gun in this economic climate can only be good. Some posters just cannot allow anything other than their particular choices to be done without prattling on about how "this would be a better choice". As for the brain-dead who hate Bill Ruger, and , by default, his company, grow up. Hypocrisy is such an embarrassment to the rest of us. You forgive S&W, but not Ruger? Get a real life.

Maybe they will wake up one day and give the customer something they really want.

I don't know anybody that actually wants to buy a .327 Federal Magnum.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

I have never shot a Glock 17, but I liked the feel of the SR9 in my hand better. The SR9 "felt" thinner than the G17 even though the 17 is 0.09" thicker. As far as weight the 17 is ~4oz lighter, but I don't think a human is going to be able to detect that amount.
