On 12/31 I purchased a ruger 10/22 target lite to shoot rimfire challenge. On 1/1/23 I unwrapped it to install the sight base and noted a 1&1/2 in crack at the nose of the fore end. I took pictures and sent them via email to Ruger's customer service. At 10:47AM on 1/2/23 I received an email from Ruger that a new stock was being sent out to me. Now that is customer service!!!! 20230101_214942_resized.jpg 20230101_220007_resized.jpg

Ruger CS has always been good to me. I've never had any major issues, but when I call they are always happy to help. Some years ago I had a new factory 20-Rnd Mini-30 magazine that developed some surface rust. I have quite a few of them and this one was the only one with problems.

They didn't require that I send the old one back or even ask for photos. They verified my address and sent a brand new magazine right out. Ruger CS is second to none! Good people.

I’m not going to completely jump on the whole “good customer service is never having to need it” mantra but I had a problem with a rifle shooting 6” groups at 50 yds.

The return and retrieval process was pretty easy for me since I am near a UPS hub and a customer service center was close.

Got the rifle back and it shoots near 1” @ 100. I’m glad they took care of me and the process was smooth.

I own a few other Ruger products and I will buy more as long as they fit my uses. I’m not blindly brand loyal to them.

How the heck does a manufacturer allow a rifle that shoots terribly out their doors when they have proven to me they can make a rifle that shoots great?

6”@50yds vs 1” @100 is huge difference. What kind of tolerances are they using?

You know the answer to that question.

The real question is why do you accept it? If the answer to that is "GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE"......well to ME that is not a valid answer.

Ruger has long been known for taking care of things. Certainly not the only manufacturer who does so, though.

My gripe with them is an unwillingness to sell many parts, even to federally licensed manufacturers who gunsmith. Not talking receivers/frames, but things like revolver cylinders.

I needed a extra high scope mount in their target gray. Nobody had them in stock so I contacted Ruger. It was in the mail the next day at no charge! Best customer service experience ever.

They are the best because they get the most practice. I've had to send numerous Ruger's back. Never anything else. Of course they do make it right.

I have never used Ruger Customer Service. I have received Ruger Customer Service. 3 Mini's, 1 GSR, 2 10/22's, and one Hawkeye. Never had a problem with any of them that was a factory problem. Now that's great Customer Service!

As I said, I will continue to buy their products if they fill a particular need of mine that wouldn’t otherwise be fulfilled by another manufacturer.

In this instance it was a seasonal run LH 450 Bushmaster American Ranch rifle. No other manufacturer made a LH bolt action 450 BM at that time and may still not. Ruger makes 3 different ones special for a dealer in MI.

I definitely don’t buy their products because of their customer service. It’s nice to know they have it though.

I purchased a Ruger MPR ar because it was made in my state, NC. Turned out to have an issue, it would lock up about 3/8th of an inch out of battery and have to be mortared to unstick it. When I called them they told me to take it back to my FFL asap. It was back in my hands in 6 days and was fixed without nary a dime from me. I also had to send them back my Super Redhawk for basically a cosmetic issue, again they took it back no questions asked, polished the muzzle, sighted it in for me and sent it back with the paper target with a 6 shot group that made one hole about the size of a 50 cent piece at 25 yards.

Their CS isn't the only factor when I'm choosing a firearm, but it has swayed me a few times.

+1 on Ruger's CS. I put an aftermarket forend on my PC Carbine. It came with its own mounting screw, which is different from the standard one. Now I'm moving to a Magpul backpacker stock, which needs the standard screw. Guess what I can't find.

One call to Ruger, and they are sending me two forend mounting screws free of charge. That's what I call customer service.

No substitute for excellence in customer service. I`d hazard a guess that everyone in this thread that`s reported that excellent service would buy another Ruger product.

I've only used 2 firearm manufacturers customer service. Once with Ruger once with S&W. I sent a SR 1911 back becuase it had rust spots under the grips. I got a shipping label, sent it back on their dime & had it back corrected in about a week.
Once with S&W. .380 EZ had last round feed issues. Sometimes stovepipe, sometimes the round would go right through the pistol & out the ejection port without loading. Sent back on their dime, got it back a couple of weeks later, still had the same issue. Between me messing around & taking suggestions from a forum board I got it to run. It was not S&W's fault.

I will still buy another Ruger if they have something I want at the right price. I will still buy another S&W if they have something I want at the right price. I would probably do more research before buying another S&W though.

Just got an update from Fed-ex. Stock will be here Friday. Add fast shipping to the service!

Agree I am there as well with a 357 bolt rifle, no one else makes one....I want one. Only game in town is Ruger, I still don't own one. Time will tell if I buy one or not.
