I'll let you know ;)
Right after I bought my P89 my buddies P85 started having trouble with FTE's. Other than limp wristing, which has been ruled out, what is the next most common cause for this and best way to fix it. My theory was that the ejector spring thingy (sorry I dont know what it is called) is worn or something and not grabbing the lip of the casing. If so how do we fix it? And should I worry about my gun. The failure happens once with just about every mag worth of ammo. Help!

Be sure its clean behind the extractor, it should have a fair amount of tension. Ruger will send you a new extractor and spring, if ya call em.

Be sure its clean behind the extractor
+1

My guess is there's a lot of gunk behind the extractor claw.

The ejector doesn't really do anything during the extraction/ejection process. It just sits there while the extractor pulls the shell back into it. When the shell hits the ejector that causes it to flip out of the chamber and away from the extractor.

Many (most?) autoloaders have a simple piece of steel that does the ejection job, so the spring shouldn't really be doing anything.

have you checked for a dirty chamber?

Don't just clean behind the extractor, clean the whole gun. Most times a ruger fails is just when it is dirty as hell.
