GP 100's with fixed sights have smaller grips than the regular GP's. Are they as small as an SP101 or somewhere in the middle? Will those smaller grips fit an adjustable sight GP?

Ah, you've noticed "the secret of the GP grips" :).

They're 100% swappable - both fixed and adjustable guns have the same exact grip mount going on. Lett grips will sell you all the pieces to swap back and forth for $40 (rubber core, different wood inserts).

The smaller setup is a little bit bigger than an SP101 grip but felt very similar to me during brief comparison handling. I really like that smaller grip; it's not just shorter, it's sorta "round-butt-ish".

I like the compact grips better than the full size too. I ordered a complete set of the compact grips from Ruger for $26.

If anyone wants to purchase a full size factory grip for the GP-100 for less than factory pricing, PM me. I have moved on to Hogue, and soon Herrett's as the factory grip is too small for my monster mitts.

Boats- What kind of Herrett's are you getting? I have seriously considered stepping up to their Jordan Trooper grip on my GP-100. I am 6'8" with hands to match and the rubber Hogues that I have on it right now feel like a screwdriver handle to me.

That and the whole custom-made-to-my-hand angle appeals to me as well.
