Ruger GP100

As far as a warranty on a Ruger, they say if you ever have a problem with Ruger, call them and they will fix it.

They have been in business for over 60 years. If they screwed over their customers, they would not be in business for long.

I have gotten nothing but good performance and good customer service from Ruger.

I like the GP100. I don't own one, but you're right, Rugers are built like tanks, and accurate to boot. Of course, the fit and finish isn't as "perfect" as a S&W (usually a Smith costs $200-300 more anyway) but the finish flaws are 99% of the time too small to notice anyway. Great choice for a wheel gun, and I'm hoping to add one to my collection soon.

As far as prices go, my local shop sells the 4" SS GP100 new for $550, they had a used one for $450 which I bought. Had fun with it for a month or so at the range, decided I wanted something more so I recently placed it on consignment for $450 and it was sold within 2 weeks. I miss it sometimes but it helped pay for my SRH Alaskan 44 mag which is an absolute blast at the target range :D

A great gun

and not so collectable that you wouldn't drill it for a scope if you wanted to. The idea of doing that to my Model-19 makes my skin crawl.
Good luck.

Thanks, but being unemployed and going back to school says I can't buy any more guns for a while :(

I have the same gun, stainless 6" barrel, and really like it. I bought mine new locally about 2 years ago for right about $600-610, including tax. BudGunshop website shows 4 stainless GP100's,used, ( all sold) going for $439-459, so yeah, $506 new is pretty good.

The six inch full lug version in blue was my first GP100. I loved it. I used it solely for a plinker and range gun and had a great time with it. I even put a 2x scope on it for range work just to see how well it shot. I was able to (off the sandbag) put all six rounds in a raggad hole with it at 25m...impressive.
