Do y'all think a Ruger LCP in 380 would be a good backup, it would be in a boot holster ?
Btw I wear regular cowboy boots

How do you envision getting to it when you need it?Do y'all think a Ruger LCP in 380 would be a good backup, it would be in a boot holster ?
Unless you can get to it quickly when you need it, it's just a good luck charm.I'd just feel safer with another firearm on my person.
I think the operative word here is “another.”Unless you can get to it quickly when you need it, it's just a good luck charm.
Make sure you carry a stiletto or a straight razor in your other boot.
I thought Leroy had. 32 gun in pocket and a razor in his shoe.
I bought a Ruger LCP in 380 when they first came out. Worst handgun I have ever bought. I hate it!!!
It works fine,,,BUT,,Its to small for my hand, uncomfortable, and the recoil is real snappy.
Since the boot is a hard to get to spot, where do y'all think is a good place to keep a backup ?
I've heard of guys with knives and guns in their boot. Can't figure how it could be comfortable let alone accessible. I can see pocket but having something wearing a blister on my ankle sounds unmanageable. Maybe someone knows something I don't .
I keep it on my right hipWhere do you keep your primary? Most who wear a gun in a holster on the right side carry a back up in the left front pocket. Or so I have read.
Does this method use a holster that's attached to the leg? Otherwise I just couldn't see it staying put. I've worn cowboy boots in the past but I can't see there being much retention without an ankle holster to keep it all in place. The OP says he wears cowboy boots so the boot carry would be at the top of the boot and not near the ankle. Anyone remember when Dusty Hill of the ZZ Top was carrying a derringer in his boot and dropped it and shot himself in the stomach?
