When I got my LCPII, I switched to the floor plate without the finger extension and took it to the range. Had issues with lock-back on the empty mag. I assumed it was mag related, picked up another mag (which I kept the finger extension on), and didn't have an issue with that new mag.

Today, I put the finger extension back on the problem mag because it didn't really make much difference for carry, and noticeable difference when shooting. The problem stopped with lock-back stopped.

So I took the floor plates off and upon visual inspection the flat floor plates are deeper in the front. It would seem the minimal difference wouldn't effect the spring pressure on the follower, but maybe it causes the base of the spring to rest at a slightly different angle.

Anyway, there's a visual difference (I'm moving and calipers are boxed up), and lock-back works with the finger extension bases, but not the flat bases.

Anyone else have this experience?

I had feed issues with the flat floor plate on both my new LCP II mag as well as my older mag. When I switched the floor plate on my spare mag I had from my old first gen LCP from flat to finger extension the issue went away, same with my new LCP II mag. I don't have any way of testing it, but the flat plat LOOKED a bit bowed like the spring was pressing down harder on it causing a feeding issue.

I could certainly see that monkeying with the lock back feature as well.
