I visited my neighborhood gunshop this afternoon and asked him about putting a J-Frame on order. He said he may be able to get a S&W J Frame next year... On my way out he said he did have some Ruger LCRs on order of all kinds. One of the options was a 38 LCR with a factory installed tritium sight and more compact grips. He said Ruger just released a few new versions of the LCR and that was one of them, it's only $30 more! Any information on this new offering?

Well I don't know how recent you're talking about here because I could swear I saw one like that (XS sights and boot grips), a few years ago at a local gunshop. I liked the XS front sight but felt the boot grip was a little on the small side for a decent hold.

The LCR with the boot grips and the XS sight has been out for quite a while. Available since at least 2011 as that is the model my wife wanted. I bought the KLCR instead and put the boot grips on it.

That's the one a pack daily. .38 Lcr factory xs and boot grips. Right out of the box.

I don't like the trigger on the LCR but I still recognize how great of a revolver it is. I say get it if you like it.
