Ruger M77 Gunsite Scout rifle 308!

Just checked back. I think my impression of it being heavy was based on the rifle being small and compact. For the size of it it has lots of heft. Right now I'm rechecking what is available for scout scopes.

I just love this rifle. Haven't handled one YET, but everything I've seen and read on it sound great to me.

Somebody (not on this thread) said the only thing that would make it perfect would be if it were semi-auto. I disagree.

Though I'd love to have a nice M14 or Socom for combat-type affairs, this rifle would be great for everything from a Coyote Crusher to potent Black Bear medicine.

I just really like the irons, the handy length, the quality Ruger bolt action and safety and the quick magazine reload for, well, whatever.

I would use it with the irons foremost, but maybe pick up a scout scope or red dot sometime down the road.
