I bought a first year stainless steel 77 mk II 7mm RM with the boat paddle stock. It was not a great shooter but served well as a hunting rifle. After some years and one trip back to have ruger cs check it for accuracy I finally had it old smithy rebarreled it and add boyd's JRS stock bedded and blocked along with a timney trigger. It then became a fine precision hunting rifle . Its the only ruger centerfire rifle I have . Only one I want too. But I would not trade it for any other rifle made today for hunting.
