At the AWB sunset, won't the magazines that Ruger currently makes for law enforcement no longer be restricted from the public? So, could we finally get factory Mini-14 hi caps for decent prices?

I have heard rumors that even if the AWB ban was to sunset, that Ruger will not produce high-capacity magazines for civilian sales. No honest man needs more than ten rounds in his gun, remember?

I know that Ruger won't make hi-caps directly for the public, but what is to stop dealers from selling Ruger hi-caps (originally intended for LEO) to the public?

Even if Ruger does make good on that lousy promise I still believe that Hi-Caps will be available. At least one if not more third party companies will step up and make the mags that Ruger won't.

If, by some miracle, the AWB sunsets and Ruger does NOT begin producing full capacity mags for civilians, I for one will NEVER buy a Ruger firearm. :fire:

I find it difficult to believe they wouldn't sell hicaps with all their pistols. After all, they would be killed by the competition if they sold their full size 9mms with only 10 rnd mags...

, I'm pretty sure PMI will start making 20 and 30 round mags for the Mini-14 again.

As far as I know...........PMI has gone out of business and the tooling used for the magazines is sitting in a warehouse. I'm sure somebody will start producing them as soon as the AWB expires. COUNT ON IT!!

The real question is, will USA magazines go out of business?

That's why you endorse laws that will keep the playing field even :cuss:

REPEAT AFTER ME!!!

They are not hi-cap mag; they are by definition standard capacity mags.

Although those sissified Lautenberg/Klintoon Specials are by definition lo-cap mags.

Man I long for the day we celebrate the passing of this unconstitutional piece of legislative excrement.

Fed

"No honest man needs more than ten rounds in his gun"

Which is why cops only need 10 round mags, right?

*Looks at my XD with my 20 round mag sticking out the grip... shrugs*

Ummmm....how did this become a "slay Ruger" thread?

Especially in light of S&W's treason?

None are blameless.
Smith has yet to renounce their trailer-trash romance with Slick Willie and his husband, Hitlery.

Who cares if Ruger doesn't market 20 or 30 round mags for the Mini-14? Guys, Ruger never made their own magazines to begin with. It was subcontracted out and I suspect PMI is responsible. Go PMI and let's hope that they make something for the Mini-30 too.

I've been wondering about that. If the ban goes away, there's nothing still in place that prevents dealers from selling mags to civilians that are stamped "Law Enforcement Only" is there?

What happens if the ban does sunset, you purchase some new LEO only mags and then the new ban comes in 2005 outlawing 10+ round mags again... do you get to keep your LEO mags?
