I called a dealer and ask them to double check their inventory stock and to make sure that what they advertized actually had and included 2 mags, 1 scope mount rail and the pistol in a black plastic case. He said yes it has everything you asked for but the plastic case is grey.
Ive never seen a grey case out of all the price searching Ive done. Does anyone think this is an older gun or possibly a newer one ?
Whats going on with the grey case ?

Not that it's terribly germane but, black cases are cheaper to produce, gray cases require colors to be more carefully controlled. It could easily be a Mk III in a Mk II case as Ruger probably bought them by the tens of thousands.

My Mark III Target came with a Ruger grey case. It was made in 2010 or 2011.

Well that makes sense. I want to make sure that there is not something I need a heads up about. Thanks

I bought a brand new Vaquero about 6 months back that came in a gray case. I would guess the black cases are just new stock rotating in.

Every Ruger in my collection came in a gray case including my Mkiii from about two years ago.

I don't think so, dog gone it. About the only thing different from mine that I don't believe the offer anymore is that mine is a 4" bull barrel 22/45 mkiii with no way to mount any optics on it out of the box and no grip inserts as the frame is solid polymer.

I believe mine is what became the Target Model, only mine doesn't have adjustable sights.

It's been great. The only issue I have ever had with it was the cheap mouse-fart lead nose/non jacketed stuff I bought yesterday. It was 100% the ammo. My old Federal stuff cycles fine and gives a nice solid report. This stuff feels like it goes off at half the power of the Federal. It doesn't have enough oomph to cycle the action AND the soft lead nose would just jam and conform to the sharp edge of the feed ramp.

Once again. 100% ammo issue there. I think I've shot premium sub-sonics through it without too much of an issue. It's just the junk ammo I purchased. I'll be burning it up through an old single shot rifle.

Thanks again Fiv3r.
I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought one (pun intended).
After hearing about everyone hardly ever having any issues I thought I would go with the semi-auto. This will be my first semi ever in my life and Im 50.
After shopping around forever  I hope to be happy soon.
Is it alright to post the website on here from where I bought this pistol ?

Did you buy it locally, or online? It's fine to tell us from whom you got it. Local members might be thankful if they think you got a deal.

Enjoy your new gun. My Mk-II was my second pistol, purchased in 1987, just weeks after my first, a .357 Magnum revolver (which I had quickly learned gets expensive to run!)

Thanks MedWheeler.
I bought it on line and I bought the last one they had for 248.99 total and that including shipping. After I bought mine I then noticed the website said "out of stock" and the price was around 279.00 or something close to that. Now its 295.20 plus shipping.

Maybe they will have a sale on them again in the near future. That was an awesome price I got mine for.

Thanks Fishbed77 did they have any issues with them back then ?

I bought a Mark III Target in 2006 and it came in the gray case. No real problems with it except the annoying magazine safety. (My Mark II Target doesn't have one of course.)

That's a great price, doggone it! IIRC, I paid about that for mine eight years ago.

No. It is a superb pistol. I removed the mag disconnect and LCA from my Mark III to make it superb-er. :D

Grey cases mean it is a standard catalogued item.
Black, green and red cases mean it is a limited edition .
Ruger has been known to put limited editions in grey cases.
The gun shown in the Hinterland pic is a MK 2 22/45.
