Ruger Mark ll info?

The mark lll on buds for $302 looks almost identical to it. What's the difference?

Loaded chamber indicator and mag release moved from the heel to the "traditional" thumb release position.

I've been looking for another decent used MK II for a couple of years now with no luck ($400 is a no go!) because I have a boat load of MK II mags that won't work in the MK III.

I'd jump on one at the price you paid.

Another change was the annoying magazine disconnect in the MK III that is NOT in the MK II.

I much prefer the MKII over the MKIII. Hang on to your new find, they are nice little guns.I'm so used to the European mag release that on my one and only MKIII I still go for the European release spot, I do not like the thumb button on the MKIII.

I forgot to mention that change. Be aware, while many people like this change, if you are shooting a gun with the wooden target grips that the thumb rest interfers with operating the mag release, and you need to shift your grip to reach it. Not a big deal in a target gun, perhaps, but I'd actually prefer the old heel release on my Competition model.
