I picked up a mag today for my P95. It was sold to me as a 15 round mag, to fit a P85 or P95.

I can physically load it with 15 rounds, but I can't get the mag into the gun. So I removed one round and tried again; this time it went in with a little resistance (much more than the two factory 10 round mags) and seemd to load into the chamber and eject with no problems.

I don't know what brand of mag it is; there's no markings on it whatsoever.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I've bought some 15 rounders for my P95 as well and have had similar issues. I had to reshape the 'lips' of the mags to get them to seat properly, but I can only load 14 round in them without the 'lips' getting bent out of shape again. Also, if I load 15, sometimes, the first round won't strip off the mag.

So, unfortunately, I only use my factory 10 rounder for carry and the 15 rounders are just for fun at the range.

It's NOT a Ruger factory mag!! It's some sort of aftermarket version, probably USA mag!! I would not trust it for defense until I have put a hundred or so rounds through it!! Try cleaning it. It may be a used mag that is just dirty! ;) You also may have a bad follower!!

Take a follower out of one of the ten round mags and swap it out. Had the same problem with one of mine. The same mag also locked the slide with one round left, the ruger follower cured both problems.

Is the base of the mag sheetmetal instead of plasitc? If so, I'd guess USA Mag, which is what I had

The base is metal, not plastice. I took it apart and cleaned it, but it seemed pretty clean already.

Since we can't carry here in Md, the mag is pretty much for use at the range anyway. For $13, I don't feel too bad about using it as a 14 round mag, ya' know?

Thanks for all the replies, fellas. That's why I shop here at The High Road :D
