I have owned my scout for a couple of weeks not and man I love it. I did not see any more deer after I bought it but I did carry it wile I was hunting the last few days. I have shot with it bit and this gun is fun to shot. I just have Iron sights on mine and I have been shooting some one the silver bear and brown bear ammo and it is grouping very nice. I was grouping them in about a 4'' circle at 50 yards . Then the other day I dug out some old ammo I had for 308 striker from years ago. It was some cheap chines stuff. At 50 yards I was getting very tight groups and at 25 yards the holes were touching. I walked out to 100 yards and doing some free hand shooting I was hitting an 8'' circle . This little gun just fits me well and is a real shooter. Swamp Rooster.

I love mine as well. They are good shooters and just plain fun to shoot.

On mine I put a Leatherwood / Hi-Lux LER 2x7 scope on the forward rail that works great....I love this rifle, sometimes I look at it and can't even believe I own it ;)

Love mine as well. Couldnt be happier.

cept maybe have a shorter clip......... and the ability to use a ching sling oh and a better trigger

other than that no complaints :)

If you want a shorter mag, Alpha Mag makes a really good ten round stainless steel model that is teflon coated. Quite a bit shorter than the stock metal version. The Alpha mags have worked 100% for me, and the quality is very high. I have not yet tried the new plastic mags, but intend to next year.
I am getting 1" five shot groups from sandbags at 100 yards using 168 BTHPM reloads. I zero for 200 yards, using the Leupold 2.5 EIR Scout Scope. Using Brown Bear, it is no problem engaging an 8" round plate at 300 if you know where to hold.
As I have been told, Leupold will soon release a 1X4 variable version, with other reticle options. This might help my older eyes.
This might be a really great hog rifle out here in the West.

The trigger on mine is excellent for a factory stock rifle.
Yea, a Ching option would be nice, but the mag would get in the way, and the factory five round version still would tend to hang up on the third strap.
Installing a Harris bipod results in a muzzle-heavy imbalance, but is still a useful option for some in spite of what Cooper said.
For some good training, shooting pistol targets very close is possible (and lots of fun) using the blue plastic training rounds, and they are cheap. No recoil, but sounds like a .38 Special, and the ten grain bullet hits dead on out to fifty+ yards. You can set up a good progressive distance drill with those, shooting the blue rounds really close, then moving out farther with conventional rounds.
