I was listening to the latest GunTalk Hunt podcast and one of the commercials was the Ruger SFAR in 6.5CM. Nothing on the Ruger website. I wonder if they read an upcoming ad too early.

Anyone got any dirt on it? I’d love to buy another upper for my SFAR.

If they build an 18” 6.5 CM, I’ll probably have to own one. I just dropped a large chunk of coin on a POF in 6mm CM because the SFAR was only available in 308. Probably would have saved a pretty good wad of money if they had a 6.5 CM available a month ago.

Just listened to the first hour of Sunday’s Gun Talk podcast. They are broadcasting from the Ruger booth at the NRA Show.

CEO mentioned the SFAR and acknowledged the 6.5 CM version would be coming soon. No date mentioned, but based on the interview, I’d suspect summer 2023 latest.

I'd be pretty tempted by an SFAR in 6GT.

Admittedly, I'm too firmly programmed in boltthrust concerns in the AR-15 platform, and seeing things done in the WSSM AR-15's and the 30 Rem AR's (where's @mcb with his bolt face photo?), so I always feel a little itchy when I see AR-12.5's like the G2 and SFAR chambered in 62-65kpsi cartridges but still using AR-15 sized bolts and receiver lugs. Part of me wishes we saw bigger bolts and extension lugs in these rifles so I could feel better about letting it rip.

I would have liked to have seen them copy the MDWS bolt and barrel extension.
