Ruger Single Six question

I called Ruger today and asked them and was told "long rifle only"!

They would say that.:p

If you shoot a lot of shorts, you can get carbon buildup at the point of the case mouth which will interfere with chambering Long Rifles -- the same thing happens when you shoot .38 Specials in a .357 chamber. The solution is to clean regularly and thoroughly.

I'm a little confused as to why Ruger would say Long rifle only. I have several .22 revolvers (.22 LR) incluing a Single Six. I've been shooting LR. Shorts, CBs and Birdshot in them for the last 50 years.

Because there are lawyers hiding behind every bush in this country. Someone will complain when his abused and uncleaned gun fails on him.
