Anybody have one? I am looking at them as my next toy to play with.
opinions?

I love mine, we're about to hit the range in a hour or so. It's a fun "little" gun IMHO. So far I've only put 255 rounds but zero issues so far. Soft enough shooter to where even my 8yo son can shoot it. The trigger is really impressive for a striker fired pistol.

For a sub 400 buck 45 that works I'm not sure you'll find anything close in reliability and accuracy. Of course the reliability claim hasn't been proved out long term yet.

Just remember they warn not to dryfire it without a mag in place. Unless you remove the mag disconnect. (2 min fix)

I bought one about a month ago.
Nothing really wrong but I just can't warm up to it.

Got some light primer strikes.

I guess I should have waited until they came out with the SR45C.

I like the two SR9C and SR40C I have.

I held one at Cabelas Gun World. It didn't fit my hand like my P345. It seems larger so I guess I need to compare it to the SR45c when it comes out. Ruger has a great reputation for durability and I'm sure the SR45 won't vary in that respect.

My sr45 has had an ongoing issue with my reloads. The ammo has light strikes in the sr45 but runs fine in 4 other 45 acp pistols I have. I sent it back to them 3 times and this time they changed the complete slide and barrel. It seems to run fine for them with factory ammo. The new slide had a stuck elevation screw on the rear sight so they sent another sight this week. The extractor also barely grips the spent cases to the point that it won't kick them out on light loads. No more SR pistols for me.

Shot mine a few minutes ago.

If you like big pistols you may like the SR45.

Decent trigger.
Right accurate (More so than shown here. My shoulders are still recovering from being torn.)
Well made, like most Rugers.
Ten round magazine.

With a fully loaded mag the slide is a little hard to pull to chamber the first round, (but could be my shoulders).

Back to shooting. :)

I havent gotten to fire one, but was really impressed with the one at LGS. Priced well too.

I also have a p97. For me it has been a much better gun than my SR45. This new ruger really has some potential, great accuracy, I like the trigger and grip but it hasn't ever run right for me. I have put at least 500 rounds of my reloads through it and I'm always getting light strikes. The same ammo runs fine in the p97 and 3 other 45s.

Ruger lost their chief engineer a couple years ago to retirement. He did things right. He designed the PC carbines and even made a 45 ACP model, but the brass wouldn’t go for it. He also designed the P90, not sure about P97.

I shot one a while back, just didn't make me warm and fuzzy. Had a p345 i liked much better but sold. Went to buy another, found out they were discontinued. Took home a SR1911. Like it much better.

This is what I'm doing. Of course, I've also been waiting for the real-world price of the SR1911 to drop closer to $600. Almost there just before Newtown, I may have to settle for $650 unless the SR45C shows up before then...

I just got mine last month, $599.99 NIB. Last one in the case at the local LGS.

I have to eat some crow here....This weekend I took her out and fed it some of my wolf stock.

I had 5 or 6 light strikes (these three in a row) in the first 25 rounds. The next 35 went fine. I want to blame the cheap o ammo but there's no doubt they are light strikes. (all fired the second time around)

I cleaned out the striker channel and there were lots of little brass shavings inside, I assume from the extractor wearing the brass I've shot.

I took it out to function test a magazine last night and it failed to lock back on the last round.....It just gets worse and worse. LOL

I had this issue with an LC9. Using Remington and S&B ammo, it would fire the first few shots fine. Then it would take part of the previous primer with it and not touch off the next primer. Channel would be full of brass shavings. It wouldn't do the same with defense ammo, just the cheap stuff.

I'd be interested to see the primers on your fired rounds and your ones that wouldn't fire.

That is how my light strikes look. I usually get about 4 or 5 per 50 rounds. That's with winchester, federal and cci primers.

The light hits are on the right.

I once had a problem with my Glock 20 having light strikes with Winchester Large Pistol primers. That was about ten years ago. I stopped using Winchester LP primers and all my light strike problems went away immediately.

I like Winchester primers, but the take-away for me was to not use them in striker fired guns. That may have changed by now, but having an abundance of CCI, Federal and Remington primers, I just left it at that.

Railroader that's what my SR's light strikes look like. I hope I can get this pistol straightened out, it's so much fun to shoot.

I'm kinda at a crossroads with this guy, give it a full galloway treatment, or send it back to Ruger if it continues to give me problems. (light strikes and last round hold open)

I noticed the pin for the mag release had walked out some last night, easy enough fix but still...I love every ruger I have, but I sent a Taurus 45 down the road because it wasn't reliable.

Before I sent my sr45 back to ruger the first time I tried an extra power striker spring from Galloway and I still got light strikes
