Ruger SR45?

Odd.....I can't even see or find a logical reason for light strikes. It's like the striker is being released to early in the cycle. I haven't paid attention (something about looking at the sights instead of the striker indicator) to the indicator when I get light strikes.

If you hold the slide upside down and hand cock the striker to where the firing pin is brought back into its first detent after slide is cycled and then depress the plunger this may give you the result of a light strike.

Like the SR45, But Problem With the Slide Lock

I've had my SR45 since March, and have put about 400 rounds through it. It's a well made, accurate shooting gun. I like the ergonomics, the very light recoil, and once you get used to it, the trigger as well.
My issue, and one that I'm sending the gun back to Ruger for, is that the slide lock won't hold the slide open after the last round. As a reputable US company, I expect Ruger will stand behind their warranty and repair the gun-will post on my experience with this later.
Unlike some of the other guys commenting here, this "glitch" wouldn't keep me from buying another Ruger semi-auto. I shoot a lot, and several of my guns have needed repair from use (some examples-rear sight pin on my 1911 Gold Cup broke, my S&W Model 29 barrel needed machine work to allow the cylinder to turn when hot, the cotter pin holding the trigger of my Beretta 92G broke, etc.).
If you drive your car it needs repairs, if you shoot often, so will your gun.

well I love my sr45. had it about a month and shot 200 rounds through it. I had one ftfeed on the last round of my first magazine and its been flawless the other 199 rounds. this gun is very accurate with light recoil as well. none of my other guns have a magazine disconnect safety so I took mine out of the sr as I heard of that having something to do with light strikes. took a couple of minutes. easy removal. get one and you wont regret it. if so you can sell it for a pretty small loss if any I would think. mine ain't going nowhere soon

yeah it could be a wise choice to wait a while (Christmas :D) I really like mine and not going anywhere however, I do want it to be reliable. Time will tell if the good striker channel cleaning fixes my light primer strikes or not. I cleaned out the striker channel (lots of brass shavings) and now have 60 rounds without issue. I also stopped using wolf, so that may have made a difference also I don't know.

If not I have faith the Ruger will make it right. The feel of this pistol has me considering a SR9 now.
