What's a good price for a 1954 Russian SKS rifle? It's in a local gun shop for $295 right now without bayonet. Overall looks good.

Sounds good. SKS's are getting more expensive. Some are even up to $500. Just make sure everything runs smooth and jump on it. Mine was $200 for a Norinco. Original furniture or ruined with a tapco stock?

^Mine. Got off gunbroker for $325 after shipping and transfer (back in November). Try looking there. You may find some in better shape of the one you mentioned for around the same price.

Russian ones command the most in terms of price. Sounds like you have a good deal there, most of the Russian SKS's I see run between $450 and $525.

I bought a russian last winter for $300OTD with bayonet. For a russian, $295, I would jump on it.

Seems like a pretty decent price. Some guy around here is asking $500 for a Russian SKS. During the run on guns last year I paid $330 for a Yugo after talking him down from $400. I would be happy to pay that much for a Russian.

That is a great price. Make sure all the numbers match and that it looks solid. I would have no problems getting that if it checks out.

Last show I was at they were 4-500 bucks.

Nice price, to be sure (if the condition is good). Just make sure the barrel's not completely worn out. If it's in anything like the condition pictured above, that's a really good price. I almost wish I had waited when I saw a great one for $350 the other day. Oh well, I had fun restoring the stock on my Yugo M59...

Too bad it is missing piece parts but still worth the asking price.
Buy it if you really want it.
I wouldn't wait, someone else will if you don't.
