Russian SKS

I was at a gun show this morning and stumbled across a guy carrying a Rusian SKS--Only Problem is it didn't have the original bayonet on it (none at all)---Are the bayonets serialized on Russian SKS? It was too good of a price to turn down, so I bought it.

I have 2 Russians and neither have serial numbers on the bayonets. They take he blade type. Any price under $300 you did good.

My matching Russian did not have any serial number on the Bayo that came with it at all. So if you want to "complete" the rifle and add a Blade to it...no problems with numbers as far as I know.

Thanks, I knew that My Yugo SKS bayonet didn't have a serial number, but wasn't sure about the older Russians (1950).

mine has the same 4 digit nmber on everything-the importer probably did this as i dont believe the russians serielized their sks bayonets or any other small parts as the germans do.youre also missing the cleaning rod on the sks-its held in there by the handle of the bayonet in the folded position.have you shot it yet?

No, just got it this morning---Haven't had time do anything to it, but wipe the outside down with oil. I'm suspose to get the rest of the original parts, if not he doesn't get the rest of his money------

www.southernohiogun.com had some blade bayonettes cheap over the summer(not on their website, give them a call). I picked up a couple for my Yugo M59s. They were under $3 each IIRC.
