I was shooting my scoped M48 today, and after cooling down after 40 rounds or so, the next time I shot it my group was 4-5 inches higher. The group size was the same. After another 20 rounds or so I adjusted the scope, and then shot a nice tight group in the center again. But then another few rounds later, it jumped up another 4 inches. Then the group opened way up.
My buddy who put the scope on did not loctite the mount or the screws of the scope. I have put about 400 rounds through the gun since scoping it. Do you think it finally wiggled loose? Also, the scope itself (Leupold scout 2.5x fixed) top adjusting dial feels a little tight, tough to turn. Could it be the scope?
A frustrating end to an otherwise great day at the range...
Any ideas?
