My local GS received one of these in the past few days. Also received ONE box of ammo. It's very slender and would probably make a good carry gun but it's not for me. Curious if others are starting to show up and if anyone has actually shot one yet.

I'm still a little miffed at Federal for devoting resources to the 30SC that could have gone into production of more of the classic cartridges.

I think it'll be the semi-auto version of the .32 revolver cartridges. It'll have its fans but will always be on the side line.

USPSA, IDPA & ICORE never included the .32s in revolver divisions, wonder if the 30SC will ever be popular enough to include.

To each his own and marketing at it's finest. Some tend to get all giddy over new and smaller calibers. Another 5.7? Time will tell...

I saw the 30 SC Shield Plus and Shield EZ at the Great American Sportsman show last week. They are just re-chambered versions of the current 9mm Shield models. So, there is nothing new on the gun itself. If you like the Shield Plus or the Shield EZ, you can get one now in 9mm and not worry about ammunition.

I'm curious about the 30SC and would like to try it out. I'm sure if I'd go ahead and get a Shield EZ or wait until someone builds a pistol that takes advantage of the small size round. They might be able to trim some of the width off the pistol to make it a bit more concealable.

But, I'll probably wait until ammunition, dies, and reloading components are more available for the cartridge.

This is the first I've heard of it, did some cursory reading, basically a stretched. 32 ACP +p+++.

50KSI is a lot of pressure in a handgun round, and I think it's gonna preclude the use of this one in the micro guns. That's where I'd find it most appealing, getting an extra round or two is a bigger bonus when .380 or 9mm only gives you 6.

I'm sure I'll play with it at some point, but I'm not clamoring to pick one up right away.

I live in Ca. I doubt I’ll ever see a gun chambered in .30 Super Carry anytime soon :(.

Stay safe.

I haven't even thought to ask about it. I'll have to next time I stop in.

Edited to add: Ok. I just checked. MY LGS has them listed on their webpage as "in stock" both with and without the safety for $499.00. Nothing about ammo, but ammo is always sort of day to day, so the listings for that may or may not be accurate.

I'm curious about the round, and will likely give it a try if my local range offers it as a rental option... though I doubt I'll actually be owning one any time soon.

If 9mm is hard to find why would one want a pistol in a weird caliber? Just asking.
I couldn't agree more. I find the cartridge interesting, but - not that interesting. I guess a few more rounds in a compact is appealing, but not that appealing.

There were a couple threads on 30 Super Carry a few weeks ago. Search THR and you will find them for more information.

Saw one at a local gun haunt. Shook my head and moved on. Not for me, but I'm sure others are excited.

It also came with 2 boxes of ammo, the owner's distributor asked if he wanted one and he said don't bother unless you send it with 2 boxes of ammo. A lot of good a couple of boxes will do.

My LGS advised his distributor finally had them available about 2 weeks ago. I ordered one without the thumb safety and picked it up last week.

I would like to shoot it but LGS cannot get ammo for it. Online sources are MSRP+, and I'm not paying that.

I plan to get one but for different reasons.
I’ve got an affinity to esoteric Smith’s.
I’ve got assorted revolvers and some odd ball autos.
3- Performance Ctr 5906’s, a PPC-9 5”, PPC-9 6”, IDPA 5906PC 4”.
A Performance Ctr 1911 9mm, and a 5906 Super 9, with three barrels (9x19, 9x21, and .356TSW.

I cast and reload for assorted.32acp’s, .32H&R, .327FedMag, so the .30SC will be just a matter of acquiring brass, via NUP or loaded ammo...

A bought a sub $300 in almost new shape very slim and concealable all steel Romanian Police 7.62 Tokarev that will blow the doors off that wimpy ".30 Super carry" LAST year ! Sorry I can't buy into that consumer fix stuff !

yeah well how about .270, 2506 .280 &mm mag , any ogf the belted mags ,.17 Hornet and .22 Hornet .22-250 .243 and on and on and even scarce .22 ! Go try to get in the LGS a box of 50 .357 or .44 spec. !

Two shops I stopped into today had everything but the Hornet calibers - because there is very little demand for them. Same with 44 Spl. 357? Yup. Rifle calibers? Yup, in stock. Four different brands of .22.

Also, there's this thing, called the internet. On the internet, you can order good and services including ammo where you can find ammunition for pretty much any caliber.
