About a month ago I got a NIB 610-3 6.5" 10mm revolver. I really like the pistol and I plan on deer hunting with it, think bow range only. For me the pistol is a little big and heavy to shoot accurately off hand. I'm much better shooting it off any improvised rest I can come up with.
Without touching the sights at all, they are set just as they were when it left S&W at 25 yards it puts shots dead on with any factory 180fmj I've tried. The Underwood 180gr GDHP shoot center but a few inches low and so did the Hornady 155XTP load.
I decided to try some Underwood 200gr XTP as for deer I've seen very positive results. And I think i found the magic. At this point I'm done monkeying around and leave it well enough alone. Now just keep practicing. The low shot was my 3rd and I'm positive I dropped it because I was so happy with the first two.
