S&W 686 No-Lock Good Deal?

Too much. I'd pass.

If it were a particularly rare gun, it'd be a different story, but there are lots of pre-lock 686's floating around out there. I paid $300 for my 6" no dash about 4 years ago.

you can fine them around here for 500 and under......payed 425 for my 686-4....
