Shot my 6906 today. It was more accurate than I had expected. It was just as accurate as my 3913 which has both surprised me and pleased me with the level of accuracy. I didn't do a lot of paper shooting because there were a lot of cans, bottles and clay targets that needed to be taught a lesson but when I did put it on paper, it hit close to dead center and grouped very tight. I got ragged one hole groups at 10 yards from a standing position. I have never shot this before and I was not very relaxed so I was surprised at how well I shot. By ragged one hole, I mean, all my shots eventually made one ragged hole. It was not like I was putting them all through the same hole. I was getting easy 1" groups at 10 yards which is comforting because I can do better once I get used to it.
I did shoot at longer ranges and it was hitting very well. When I missed, it was me and not the gun. Both the 6906 and 3913 are more accurate than I was prepared for. It is a good surprise.
The cons:
1. I don't mag safeties. All S&W have them but I hate them.
2. I wish it was just a de-cock only instead of the safety de-cock
3. The slide stop lever is a little far from my short thumb to engage unless I shift my grip.
4. The factory stocks which I thought were comfortable, became slick with sweat and made the gun twist in my hand during shooting. No problem, I was debating on getting some Hogues anyway. Now I will just get them. My 3913 has Hogues and it didn't twist in my hand at all.
5. The bore axis is a little high. The gun flips around a bit more than say my SA XD-9. The recoil is directed more upwards where the XD-9 recoil is more straight back. My Kahr K-9 is better yet and it shoots like a .22mag.
6. The SA trigger is really far back towards the frame. I guess I can get used to it but it seemed like it was almost touching the frame before it broke.
