Went looking at the used guns today and the shop had a 39 and 910 for sale, the 39 was 399 and the 910 was 359, they came down to 319 on the 910. It definately has holster wear, even the hogue grips show wear. However I feel that the price is very good and I was wondering if these guns are very reliable? I'd rather not get the 39 due to the fact it's a single stack magazine. I know the 910 is the "value" model, however, I'm not looking for something pretty, just something that goes bang everytime. Would you buy it?

My model 910 goes bang EVERY time I pull the trigger. It shoots 125gr cast RN reloads, 147gr FMJ-flat point +P ammo and +P+ 115 JHPs equally well...in other words it eats all types of ammo. It will out shoot my SIG P6 and run neck and neck with my P226. Ya, I think I would buy another S&W pistol;)

I used to have one too and it always shot perfect. I regretted letting it go but I had too many at the time and wanted something else, don't remember what now of course.

For what its worth, I have had a S&W 410 for probably the last 6 or 7 years and, like wnycollector, mine has gone bang every time as well. My only issue is the 10 round capacity (I can get 11 rounders now) but otherwise its been great.

910 is a great little gun. Picked mine up for $290 in November. Sweet little 9mm pistol. IMHO, S&W autos are great value. The 910 is the economy line, but take the 59xx series mags and holsters. I'm very happy with mine.

The absolutely only way to go wrong with a 3rd Generation (5906, 910, etc.) Smith & Wesson auto is by.......

not buying it.

They are great pistols. You wont regret it. They are so reliable-they are boring.

Excellent firearm at a good price. I bought Mec-Gar 17 rnd mags for mine that work f;awlessly. Eats everything I feed it. Good accuracy and and an outstanding trigger reset. My wife now carries it for CCW.

I have a 6906 and would like the 910 for carry, it fits my hands better....the list of others goes on!

No, no - not reliable at all... Don't buy it. BTW, where did you say the store was again?

Seriously, you cannot go wrong with a S&W 910 for $319. They are the latest (and probably the last) incarnation of the S&W 59xx series. The 910 is alloy frame w/steel slide. It is identical to the 915. The "10" denotes the lower capacity magazine. Lots of folks call it the "Poor Man's SIG P226". 17 round MegGar magazines function flawless in my 59's & 91x's (yeah - got a few of 'em). One of the best USA pistol designs ever, IMO.
