This thread is an update to one I posted about 2 weeks ago: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=360572

This was my first experience with Smith and Wesson's warranty service and all I have to says is... :what:

The 442 was sent out on Tuesday, May 6 and it was returned to me today, Thursday, May 15, which means it took exactly one week for the necessary repairs to be made. I don't think I've ever had a turnaround time that quick from anybody before.

On the invoice, it said that the barrel was straightened, the cylinder was replaced, and the forcing cone was re-cut. I'm not sure why the cylinder was replaced or why the forcing cone was re-cut (nor did they provide an explanation), but I'm glad that whatever problem existed is now fixed.

I'm more than satisfied with the way the issue was handled and can say that I won't hesitate to purchase S&W firearms in the future. :)
